  1. Is it possible to run Microsoft Store games from a second hard drive without reinstalling?

So I've had a PC for nearly 4 years. The hard drive started to get slow, so I put in an SSD as a boot drive to at least speed up Windows, however if I need to I can still boot into Windows on the hard drive.

Issue is, I have a lot of games on this hard drive. Nearly 270GB. And my SSD is only 120GB. I want to know if it's possible to run Microsoft Store games from a secondary drive without wiping it and reinstalling them, and how to do it.

I already tried changing the install location of store apps to the hard drive from the SSD but it didn't help, and I can't get into the WindowsApps folder on it due to permissions being denied from TrustedInstaller, if that helps.

    :)

  2. Microsoft Store not seeing second hard drive

To preface this issue, I have Forza Horizon 3 and all of it's DLC bought on Microsoft Store. I was playing the game perfectly fine until one day last week when the game wasn't seeing any of the DLC I had installed.

I tried many different solutions and decided that I would just try an uninstall/reinstall. However, this turned out to be the worst course of action. I tried to reinstall the game by pressing the "Install" button on the store...and nothing would happen.
I then restarted my PC and upon clicking the "Install" button again, I would receive a drop down menu of places to install.

Now this is where the actual issue comes into play. On the drop down menu, I no longer can see my second hard drive in the list of available places to install. I had the game installed on my second hard drive before I uninstalled it. So, why can the Store no
longer see my hard drive? No other drives have enough space to install the game to them.

As it stands at this moment, I can no longer play the game that I bought just because the Store cannot see a certain drive anymore. And before anyone asks, yes, everything else can see the second hard drive.

  3. Using games from the microsoft store

Based on the results you've obtained, this can be an issue with the Windows Store which affects the digital games you’ve downloaded from it. We suggest manually resetting the Windows Store cache. Here are the steps:

    • Press the Windows + R keys to open the Run dialog box.
    • Type WSReset.exe and click OK.
    • The Store and a command prompt will now open with any message. The command prompt will automatically close after the Store's cache has been reset.
Once done with the reset, kindly click this
    link
and follow the steps on how to check for updates for apps and games from Windows Store. Search if there are any updates available for the affected game.

Keep us updated with the progress.

    Hardware and Devices troubleshooter:

    • On Cortana search, type troubleshooting.
    • Select Troubleshooting from the list.
