Windows 10: Is it possible to set the new default outlook mail application in windows 11 to only...

I do not want it to display banners that popup on my screen for new mail as they are distracting. I seem to recall that when I first upgraded to Windows 11, that that application displayed the "new" badge. However, now, it does not display anything. If I hover over the taskbar icon, it will say if there is new e-mail, but I would rather see if there is a way to display the different icon to know if there is new e-mail. Please advise if you know a setting. Thank you.Please note, this is not the Office 365 app, but the default mail app that has replaced the mail application.

Delete mails in Outlook but want to keep mails untouch in webmail

When I deleted an email in outlook and my webmail got deleted too. I want to keep all the inbox mails from the webmail even I complete deleted in outlook. I spend hrs can't think it out how. Any step by step instruction? I'm using IMAP account btw. Thanks and Merry Christmas.

Thank you for the information. There is a possibility that the settings is not detecting the Outlook application that is why it is not showing as an option. We suggest performing a repair on your Outlook application. Kindly follow the steps on this article to
perform a repair. After you perform the repair, kindly check the settings and see if you'll be able to set the Outlook app as your default program.

To better help you with your concern, kindly tell us what account (e.g. Outlook.com, Google, Yahoo! Mail) you are using in
Mail application.

In the meantime, we suggest that you follow the steps below to set the
Mail application as the default application:

• Click the Start button and then select Settings.
• Choose System and then go to Default apps.
  
• Click the Reset button and then set the Mail app for
  Email.

If you are using an Outlook account and there’s an Outlook application installed on your device, kindly set Outlook as the default application for Email.
