Windows 10: Is it possible to specify the Download location "to the directory" for apps from Microsoft...

I have a simple irritating to me issue. When new "apps" are downloaded from the MS Store they do not get installed where I want. I know the installation drive can be changed from the default "C:" to my own secondary disc but it then puts them all inside "WindowsApps" where they are separated from other software from the same company and are inaccessible without changing directory permissions.


I do not have this problem if I install to the main "C:" drive, they get installed into "C:\Program Files x86\Linn\" by default. I already have my secondary drive set up to reflect the same paths, i.e. "G:\Program Files x86\Linn\", and I have other software from the same manufacturer, actually Linn Audio, which sits in its own directory inside that. I would like to keep all Linn software in that place as it is then immediately accessible to me should I need to access it.


Using "Move" from the "Apps and Features" area of "Settings" doesn't help. It only allows me to specify a drive to move a "C:" installed app to and then puts it in the same "WindowsApps" location again.


I don't understand why this has once again been taken out of our own hands and the decision to use "WindowsApps" imposed upon us by MS. Sure, having all installed apps in a logical same place is a good idea, but why should MS have the need to impose the naming of that location on us and prevent us from accessing it without toying with permissions?

specify location of favorites


Can I specify the location of favorites for Edge and IE?

If I could put my favorites on OneDrive, then my Surface Pro 2 and my desktop PC could use the same list of favorites. I frequently modify my favorites list (add new, rearrange, etc.) and would like changes I make on my desktop PC appear on my Surface, and vice versa.

Is this possible?
