Is it possible to switch laptop to network operation (Windows 10)?

Unfortunately my laptop has a built-in battery and I wanted to know whether it can be set to mains operation only. Or the battery can switch off temporarily. They say it would not hurt anddso but since the battery is then always kept at 100% it does hurt in some way.

    :)

Windows 10 v1709 switches from Private to Public network

    Hi Bruce,

It is possible that there is an issue with the network profiles of the computer and that can be the reason why the network always switches to Public network. We recommend that you delete all known network profiles to resolve the issue. To do this, follow
    these steps:

    • Open command prompt as administrator.
    • In the command prompt window, type netsh wlan show profiles
      and press Enter.
    • Type netsh wlan delete profile name=[ProfileName] and press Enter.
    • Repeat the third step for the rest of network profiles you've seen after running the command in the second step.
    • Check if the network will still switch to Public.

    Keep us posted.

What is odd, is I don't even see my NIC in the list. It shows a Broadcom wireless network is all. Hell of it is, I don't even have that enabled in windows.

Laptop won't show list of available networks

We suggest checking the list of available Wi-Fi networks on your laptop.

    Please follow these steps:

    • Click the Windows logo.
    • Go to Settings (gear icon).
    • Select Network and Internet.
    • Then Wi-Fi.
    • Make sure the Wi-Fi radio button is On.
    • Select Show available networks, then you'll be able to see the list of available Wi-Fi networks.

Update us with the outcome so we provide further assistance.
