Hello,some years ago, before first major update of Windows 10, I purchased a Windows 10 Pro license that was to be downloaded and supposed to be bound to a specific device. I used the license on that device until the device died due to hardware failures in summer 2021.Then I reused the SSDof that machine and deleted all data by installing Linux.Due to this I cannot deactivate or remove the license using the original machine.Hence the question: is there an option to re-use that Windows 10 Pro license on any other machine?Research in my Microsoft account did only yield that the dead device is st

You can't because the free upgrade originated from a preinstalled OEM Windows 8.1 license. You will need to purchase a new full Windows 10 license for the other device.

i bought the license. My laptop was originally loaded with win 7 and was upgraded free couple of months.
