I have two different hard disks that I would like to back up to separate disks. That is four total disks: drive C backs up to drive D, and drive E backs up to drive F. Is this possible to do with Windows? The only solutions I have found rely on third-party software. Thanks.

    :)

    File history source file

I have a large drive D that I use for all data files, and a small SSD drive C for OS and apps. File History does not recognize the drive D as a SOURCE file for the data to be backed up. How do I get File History to recognize drive D as the source?

File History not backing up any files

    Hello Victor

Thank you for the response. I had already checked that thread, but it hasn't helped me:

    • The thread deals with Windows 8's implementation of File History, which is somewhat different to that of Windows 10.
    • Most of the thread deals with setting up File History (which I have already done, precisely following the recommended steps). The third link in the thread might have been useful since it appears to link to a page that deals with troubleshooting File History
(as opposed to setting it up), but unfortunately the link is dead.
Any further suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    File History Windows 10

is this the destination for file history or a source?

if you want to use a different drive for the destination go to settings -> update & security -> backup

under back up using file history click on more options

scroll down to Back up to a different drive and click the stop using drive button.

if you want to exclude the network drive from file history go to settings -> update & security -> backup

under back up using file history click on more options

if the drive is listed in "back up these folders" click on it and then click the remove button.

or you can add the drive to the "exclude these folders" list.
