Hi, I have just built a new computer but I have not activated Windows 10 yet. I plan to upgrade the SSD from my current 1TB SSD to 2TB SSD within the next three months. In this case, is it better to copy all user files from the 1TB SSD to an external drive, install Windows 10 on the new 2TB drive and copy all user files back to the new 2TB drive or clone whatever I have in the 1TB to the 2TB drive? Is cloning less good than a clean vanilla install?

    :)

Windows 10 upgrade to a new SSD

I want to install Windows 10 to a new SSD. I currently have several 1TB drives installed. I have windows 8.1 and programs on C: and the data files on D:. My question is when I upgrade windows 10 to the new SSD, does it install the programs on the SSD
or leave them on the old C: drive. I want the programs and windows to reside on the SSD and the data, (pictures, music, videos and documents) to reside on the regular drive. if the install leaves the programs on the old C: drive what is the best way to get
both Windows 10 and the programs on the new SSD without having to reinstall each and every program. I know I can clone the old C: drive to the SSD but was hoping to get a clean install without all of the leftover junk Windows leaves on an upgrade, (at least
that is what used to happen). any help on this would be appreciated. Thanks

64Gb SSD for OS or 2Tb HDD for storage ?!

If you don't need an SSD, get the 2tb drive. I have two SSDs, one 64gb for some programs and the OS, and a 180gb SSD for my games. Storage is on a 1tb HDD. If you don't use programs that profit considerably from an SSD (photoshop) and can live with Windows taking a bit longer to boot, get the 2tb drive.

    Recommend A Decent Internal SSD?

If you are planning on using the SSD as a games drive as well, I would suggest a larger capacity SSD.

I mainly use my 1TB WD Black as the games and other programs drive with my 2TB Green as a media/storage drive.

I have to agree with the people who mentioned Samsung Magician Software being great.
While Windows 7 is supposed to setup it's services to cater for SSDs automatically, it appears it does not always do so.
In my case Samsung magician reported certain services which were meant to be turned off, as still active.
