  1. Is it safe to force power off by removing the battery?

    As the title says.

My laptop PC is currently completely unresponsive; Ctrl + Alt + Delete doesn't work, keyboard and mouse inputs don't work. Screen is frozen at the time this happened, because the clock shows the time five minutes ago. What's even more baffling is that holding down the power button does nothing.

It started with the keyboard ceasing to work. When I started to try fixing the issue using only mouse navigation, that stopped working too.

Looking at some articles online, one said that if the CapsLock LED doesn't turn on when you press it, the PC is deadlocked. My CapsLock LED is indeed unresponsive, but I'm not completely sure if this really is a deadlock.

I'm suspecting Adobe After Effects is somehow causing this problem because I got a blue screen, which I have never got before, the last time I was running it after staying away from it for some time.

I need to reboot the computer in order to try to fix anything, but I'm worried I'll somehow damage my SSD and harddrive. Any opinions/advice I'll appreciate.

TLDR: Is it safe to force power off by removing the laptop battery when the power button is unresponsive?
