Is it Safe to Have a Paging File Size Greater than the Recommended Value?

I recently faced "chrome.exe : Application Error" in windows 10 Lenovo ThinkPad laptop. Then when it finally booted successfully I reviewed my virtual memory in Windows 10 and found that the current allocation of paging file size is greater than the recommended. What does this indicates and what should I do? Is it safe to have such paging file size?

    :)

    Original title:
    Page File Size

Hello. Im using windows 10 and have a 4gb ram.

For the sake of slow performance of windows 10 ( which is a common problem ) , and as recommended to have a page file size set on , im wondering what should be the page file size , and if there is a problem
with the values that i just set on after figuring out .

    My hdd is 500 gb , 2 partitions C and D : ; C: 448 gb , D: 15.4gb

    My page file size is 4096-6144 on C ; 1024-2048 on D .

Is there a problem with this too much size of page file taking to consideration the 4gb physical ram .. Though im very pleased with my laptop performance now , but im wondering if this might hurt or have
any consequences in the future . Im totally opened to any further recommendations .

    Best regards

    Page File

Set minimum and maximum to a constant number as suggested by others, that will help reduce fragmentation on the drive coz of different page file sizing.

What is the recommended Page File Size

    Hello Khaled,

We understand that you would like to know about the page file size in Windows 10. We will assist you with your query.

Paging files are essential files that Windows uses like Random Access Memory and hence needed for virtual memory. The paging files are by default stored in the drive where you have installed Windows. It is not recommended to delete
the paging files, as it will result in poor system performance.

There is particular page size recommended by Microsoft, however it is advised not to keep the Page file size too high as it may result in low performance of the system.

Let us know if you need further assistance. We will be happy to assist you further.

    Thank you.
