    QUESTION: Is Microsoft "blocking" non-Microsoft apps from opening even though the file extension is listed as a Default App?I want to open a pdf file.Under System > Apps > Default apps, upon entering ".pdf" into the search box, "Adobe Acrobat Adobe Acrobat Document" is returned right under the search box.Further under System > Apps > Default apps > Adobe Acrobat, I have 10 Adobe files listed, one being ".pdf".Yet, when I click upon a pdf file I get a pop up window, "Select an app to open this .pdf" files. The options listed are: 1 Adobe Acrobat listed as a

    Non-Store Default Apps for a file protocol in windows 10

    Hi Ajo,

    Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community.

    I suggest you to follow the below steps.

    1) Right click on the file and select choose another app to open. It will display the list of apps to open.

    2) If the app is not listed then select more apps and check if you can find it.

    Let us know the status of the issue.

    I have a lot of ms word files on my pc. But one of them showed me an error - Getting unknown error messages while opening (.doc) or (.docx) files. I don't know how to open my word file or repair microsoft word. Any suggestions, guys, please.
