  1. Is Microsoft breaking aftermarket hardware?

I have purchased two controllers for my laptop, the Logitech F710 wireless and the SteelSeries Stratus XL (bluetooth), and both have stopped working. There is nothing wrong with the hardware whatsoever. The Microsoft terms and agreements says that Windows 10 can detect and stop certain aftermarket hardware and programs that infringe on Microsoft's domain, more or lesss.

So, does anyone think Microsoft is purposefully breaking certain hardware through updates?

    :)

  2. Aftermarket chargers

There are shed loads of chargers out there you could use, please use them. Our repair department makes loads of money out of them becuase they blow the phones internal charger fuse with monotonous regularity. They are not very good at restricting their
output voltage and the phones internal protection circuitry works by taking the fuse out.

I never use anything other than a Nokia charger or a well known trusted aftermarket brand that you would get from one of the big phone supplier chains!

  3. Aftermarket Apps

The only thing I've seen that is potentially warranty voiding are unofficial ROM updates for Windows Phones. In a majority of all cases even if a program does it's worst a phone can be restored to factory state.

It takes all the running you can do to stay in one place. If you want to get somewhere else, you must try to run at least twice as fast as that.

    Is Microsoft breaking aftermarket hardware?

There is no physical way that a driver or OS can damage hardware.

Start by removing the devices and their drivers, then reboot ans allow Windows to install its own.

If you have any special software installed, remove it.

It could just be as simple as the two controllers fighting over each other.

What game are you using these with?

They have both " Stopped Working " implies that they did in fact work originally Correct?

You state that there is nothing wrong with the hardware whatsoever.

Why do you think Microsoft Broke the hardware if there is nothing wrong with it?

I am confused. Do you mean to say you think Microsoft rigged the software via an update to prevent the hardware from functioning properly? As in on purpose. No, I do not think that they would do that at all. However some updates do interfere with hardware drivers which makes them problematic or even non-functional until the hardware vendor develops a compatible driver. This does happen, but it is usually caused by the hardware vendor deviating from the Windows specifications...

Check with the vendor to see if they have an updated driver.
