    Is MS Intentionally making it impossible to reply to support requests on GMail?


    In order to reply to a support request on gmail, Microsoft sends a message and asks that you reply above the message. This is simply not possible in Gmail. Gmail doesn't let you edit above the message. So support requests are useless. Is this a ploy by Microsoft to punish Gmail users? Is there a workaround? Do I have to reconfigure Gmail to handle replies differently? It's really frustrating to get messages that say, "I got an email from you with no information in it" Come on. And **** is up with the Windows support options? I am filing this under some completely unrelated topic because there

    Thanks to Caledon Ken...your suggestion had no effect.

    Thanks to bro67...Interestingly enough the Gmail link to this forum reply actually worked, as did your link to "How to Fix....." I tried steps 1 and 2 without success. Step 3 gave me the following screen, which didn't look like the article described. At any rate, the probem is unchanged...screenshot follows.

    Windows 10 Mail forgets Gmail password almost every day

    Reason

    Windows Mail app keeps prompting for Gmail account password frequently with the "your gmail settings are out of date" message—
    According to a comment on this post . . .

    Potential Solutions

    Based on some quick research there may be two options that may help resolve this. . .

    1. Enable the 2-Step Verification functionality and security feature with your Gmail account and then use the 2-Step Verification to verify and trust the Windows Mail app to have access to your Gmail account
    2. Enable and use the Less Secure Apps functionality by turning that ON and using your usual Gmail account password with the Windows Mail app to authenticate
