Windows 10: Is my ip my PC's IP or my routers

If I search what is my il on google I get the same answer on my phone and pc, does everyone get the same answer if they are on the same wifi?

When will we be able to edit wifi settings for `default router ip` etc? (nokia 625). Need static ip address and default router ip to connect to wifi.

 

Finding IP address

Hello,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

I suggest you to follow the steps mentioned below to find printer’s IP address:

1. Type Devices and Printers in the Windows search bar.
   
2. Select on the printer and click on
   Manage.
   
3. Click on the Ports tab.
   You will be able to find printer’s IP address under the ‘Ports’ tab.
   

Few printers also have a “Test print” option on the printer. When you print a test page from network printer, the page shows the IP address along with other details.

Note: If it is set on DHCP mode the IP address will constantly change.
The IP address is assigned automatically by your router using a protocol called DHCP.

IP address

Hi Mark

You have 2 IP Addresses, one from your PC to your router and the other from your Router outwards to the Internet

PC IP Address

Click Your Start Button, type cmd and hit Enter to open Command Prompt

In Commang Prompt run this command and hit Enter:

ipconfig /all

You will find your PC's IP address in the list under your Current WiFI adapter (see image below)

To find the IP Address of your Router:

In the back or bottom of your Router is a sticker with a UserName, Password and IP address (something like 192.002.005.001) printed on it

Note those down

Go to your PC and open a Web Browser

In the address type the IP address and hit Enter

That will bring up your routers configuration page

Somewhere on that page you will find settings

Somewhere in the settings under WLAN you will find the IP address that router is using on the Internet

You may need to enter the UserName and Password you noted down from that sticker on the router to enter settings
