Windows 10: Is my Windows security app infected with virus?

Hi,

So I got my PC 1 year ago. I am observing that my PC is like behaving unusually and also pop-up apps are opening and in my old PC, this same thing came then i found out it was a virus. So I thought that new PC is infected with virus. I am doing a lot of scans and it says "no new threats". Everyday I open windows defender, it says action needed with a "!" mark at the taskbar at the start up. But when I click it, it says no action needed and from "!" mark it turns to "TICK" symbol. And also I open security on other day, it shows; "Last scanned yesterday. Scan lasted 45 seconds. Scanned at 2:15:40". Everyday it shows the same thing. even the millisecond does not change. So is my Windows security app infected with virus? If it is, then is there a way to remove it.

I was hoping someone could give me a list of step by step instructions you use as a guide to clean virus, malware...etc. so I can keep my PC clean if it gets infected.

• What is the exact issue you are facing on Windows 10?
• What is the make and model of the computer?

For now I would suggest you to perform a virus scan. If a computer is infected by a virus, lots of resources will be taken up to greatly slow down computer performance. Click on the below to perform a virus scan.
