Windows 10: Is ReadyBoost really (8GB USB, 7.45 GB usable, USB Port V3) worth using on Windows10 with...

The title says it all. Note that I know the specs are kinda not good, but I really don't intend on doing anything other than basic programming (just a noob, will get a good system when I need one), browsing internet(standard HTML websites for college) and opening PDFs and spreadsheets. My PC is running fine otherwise, just started lagging after the latest W10 update (TBH, I had blocked Windows Update until it become necessary to update, and when I updated, system got a bit slow). I wanted to know if using ReadyBoost would help me in any ways, and if yes, what should I set the values of all attributes and properties like drive format etc?

USB Port Oddities


Ok, let's see it with pictures step-by-step. First right-click on the USB device and select Update driver software:





Then select Browse my computer for driver software (LAST option) :





The select Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer (LAST option) :





Then select the standard driver from the list and click next:





Click next/OK as required to complete installation. Repeat the steps for all Intel USB devices. Finally click on each USB root device and press DEL to delete it, reply YES when asked. After deleting all USB root devices restart the computer.

Is ReadyBoost Worth It?

My suggestion: Take a boot-time without readyboost and the take a boot-time with readyboost (I believe you have to let it boot a few times before the cache in readyboost is build?)

I have tried it myself and I did´nt find any improvement....
