    Is tablet optimised taskbar feature implemented in 23H2?


    So I have been facing issues with quick settings panel freezing and it seems to have been solved along with addition of tablet optimised taskbar in windows 11 build 25197 and above which was released last year itself. I have the latest release build of 23H2 which is 22631.3672 installed and I still am unable to see any setting for tablet optimised taskbar and in-fact all the fixes mentioned in that build. So when is it going to be released in public builds? Its already been an year.

    Taskbar blank in tablet mode

    Hi,

    This issue might be because of the settings on your device, follow the steps below and check the settings:

    • Open Settings.
    • Click System.
    • On the left side pane, locate and click Tablet Mode.
    • Turn Off Hide app icon on the taskbar in tablet mode and
    • Automatically hide the taskbar in tablet mode. (See screenshot below for reference)

    Hi Roger,

    Thank you for sharing this to the Microsoft Community. We suggest that you follow these steps for possible solution:

    • Right-click on an empty area of the taskbar. If in tablet mode, hold your finger on the taskbar.
    • Click on Settings.
    • Toggle Automatically hide the taskbar in desktop mode to on. You can also do the same for tablet mode.

    In addition to that, you can follow the reply of johnhart061 on this
    thread for more information.

    how to set taskbar to auto-hide in tablet mode?


    I wrote a little application to auto-hide the taskbar on my tablets and would like to share it with anyone looking for something similar. In particular, I want the taskbar to hide in landscape mode where vertical space is precious, but not in portrait mode where there is plenty of vertical space.


    Features of the application:



    • Auto-hide taskbar can be turned on or off independently for each combination of tablet mode and screen orientation.
    • Install for all users.
    • Free and open source.
