  2. How to remove Power Button Menu - if you find it useless.

    Suggestion for Nokia.

As there is only 1 button to produce impulses, number of impulses sent by human should have meaning:

    • Standby
    • Hibernate
    • Shutdown
Nokia Power Management would show its Power Button menu on first click and launch (5 sec) timer, if Power Button was not pressed during that time (or keyborad or mouse selection made), first option should activate (Standby). If Power Button is clicked for
second time, the (Hibernate) option becomes selected, and timer is reset and if nothing happen, after (5 sec) timeout the option (Hibernate) activates.

This should allow single button operation of all power functions of Booklet.

The selection could be sound (voice) assisted, for cases when Booklet lid is closed.

  3. N73 Power button

Hi all. Recently recieved a N73 as a phone upgrade from Orange, have had it just over a month with no problems. However mid-way through today the power button on the top ceased to function, no longer bringing up the menu with shut down, lock keypad etc.
    when pressed.

All other functions of the phone are fine.

Any suggestions or will I require a trip to the store to get it fixed?

Power button no longer locks screen

    Hi,

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community.

From the description it appears that, Power button is not functioning as expected and it always does some other function while pressing it.

I suggest you to run the Power troubleshooter and check if it helps.

    1) Type Troubleshooting in the windows search box.

    2) Click on Troubleshooting and select the
    view all
    option on the left pane.

    3) Click on Power troubleshooter and follow the prompts.

I also suggest you to run the Hardware and device troubleshooter and check.

    • Type “troubleshooting” in the search box and click on
      troubleshooter

    • In the left pane, click on View all

    • Now click on Hardware and device and follow the on screen instruction.
I also recommend you to contact the place of purchase and check if they can help.

Hope this helps. Please reply to us with the status of the issue.

    Thanks.
