Windows 10: Is the weather card the only one that actually shows data in taskbar?

Hi, I would like to use the News and Interests feature to display stock price updates in the taskbar. I have set it to: Show Icon and Text and for weather, it worked quite fine but that's not what I want. As the next step, I disabled all the cards except for Finance and added a stock to the ticker. However, all I can see is the newspaper icon in the taskbar. When I click open the app, I do see the actual price in the upper right section, but there's a lot of unnecessary and distracting info still showing cat videos etc.. Can this be customised?

Windows Weather Widget Not Showing In Taskbar Build 22000.527

I've searched around and tried different suggestions on how to get the weather widget to show up in the taskbar, but nothing is working at all and I've kind of hit a dead end. Anyone have any tips?

 

News and weather widget on taskbar not showing weather, just a newspaper icon

From what I can tell, the taskbar icon is based on which cards are showing at the top of the pop up when you click the icon. So try this:

1) Click the Newspaper icon

2) If Weather isn't at the top of the pop-up, click the "..." on the cards at the top and Hide them until Weather is at the top.

It will periodically move other cards above Weather, so just repeat or accept that Microsoft wants you to use your PC they way *they* want you to and don't care at all what you want. Not that I'm bitter.

 

weather content to the left side of the taskbar not showing

"Learn More" for 2022-02 Cumulative Update for Windows 11 for x64-based Systems (KB5010414) Which I just installed says:

• New! Adds weather content to the left side of the taskbar if the taskbar is aligned in the center. When you hover over the weather, the Widgets panel will appear on the left side of the screen and will disappear when you stop hovering over the area.
  

I do not see any weather content. I changed the taskbar back and forth from left to center between restarting a couple of times but never saw any weather report on the taskbar. What am I doing wrong?

EDIT:

OK, I see the problem. This feature is dependent upon widgets being enabled and I don't do that. That should be made clear! Interdependencies between features is a bad thing! It should also NOT depend on a center alignment. I don't do that either. Some sort of quick pop-up of the weather is, in itself, a great idea.
