Windows 10: Is their a way i can get a free fully licenced windows 10

I am a 3rd student of unitec and I recently got a new laptop from trademe because my old ones battery is not charging and I need windows 10 to use some of the programs I need to study like rstudios- so I used a USB stick to create a creation media recently like 2 days ago from posting this the only problem I am having is that I cant activate it and it will only last a month- I was wondering if is their a way I can get like a free activation key so i can keep my windows 10 for my studies- or do i have to buy a Microsoft widows 10 programme installer hopefully not- i am currently broke with no

How to activate Windows 10 licence? Is there a way to transfer the licence?
