Windows 10: Is there a better way to manage 3 displays? Project only has controls for 2 monitors.

Hi all any help would be greatly appreciated,I run a three monitor setup, one ultra wide in the middle, and one monitor either side, one of which is vertical, my middle monitor has two inputs, one of which is my pc connected to the other two monitors 1,2 and other input is my work laptop, I do not use monitors 1 and 2 for work so they always show the output from my pc. For a while now when I work I just change the display input on the middle monitor but that does not disconnect from my pc causing some issues like windows opening on monitor 3 which I cant see. To avoid this I use the project

Changing projection settings to enable 2 of 3 monitors

Hello,

I was wondering if there was a way to change the projection settings to only enable 2 of 3 monitors. As it stands, when I press windows + P I can either enable all three monitors, or just one.

In the image attached, I would like a setting to enable displays 1 & 2 only while having 3 off, or even having display 2 & 3 while having 1 off. I am not sure if this is possible, but if it is, does anyone know how?

Monitor 2 is my main monitor.





A temporary fix I found was using the nvidia control panel to use two of three monitors, but when I turn the third monitor back on (all three on), the configuration of the display arrangement changes & I would have to fix it every time. Monitor 3 ends up on the right side.

I can imagine the inconvenience you are experiencing and will certainly help you in the right direction to fix the issue. However, I would appreciate if you could answer a few questions to narrow down the issue in order to provide you with better assistance.

a. Are you trying to project the screen on a TV or on a different monitor?

b. How are you trying to project - wirelessly or using an HDMI/VGA cables?

c. What exactly happens when you try to project your screen?

d. Do you get any error message?

I would suggest you to try the steps provided below and check these are helpful in projecting your screen.

• First you need a video cable for making the physically connection. For better picture quality, you should connect the computer to the TV using standard VGA ports or via the DVI to HDMI cable provided your TV supports these ports.
• Open the "display settings" in your computer and activate output to the TV screen. You can either mirror content of your computer on the TV or extend the display just like a dual monitor screen.
• Pick up your TV remote and switch to "External Inputs" from the menu. You will need to change the default "Video 1" to a different selection which may be "HDMI 1" or "Video 2" depending on how you have made the connection.

Important: Make sure you connect the cable to the TV before turning on the computer as sometimes it may fail to recognize external display.

You may also need to change the screen resolution of your TV using the Display settings in your Control Panel else the picture may appear distorted.

Unable to project videos on external display in Windows 10

Provide us additional information to assist you better with this issue:

• How exactly are you trying to project the content from computer to external display?
• What exactly happens when you try to project the video on external display?
• Were you able to see any error code or message with this issue?

You might be facing this issue due to corrupted/ outdated display drivers, let us try the below steps and check if it helps.

Method 1: Update/Install the Display Adapter driver.

Steps to install the drivers for the Display Adapter.

• Press Windows key + X key when you are at desktop.
• Select Device Manager.
• Expand Display Adapter.
• Double click on the Display Adapter,
  go to Driver tab, click on Update driver software.
• Also, contact the manufacturer's website and try to install those drivers for your device.
