  1. Is there a chance windows defender installed wrong?

I'm running a new install of Windows 10 as of about 2 weeks ago, ever since i installed ive been having and issue, mostly when i try to play certain online games (Risk Of Rain 2, Payday2, Deep Rock Galactic) that i cant connect to the servers, Other games like Destiny2 I can connect to and play multiplayer in, I've tried everything, as listed bellow.

    - Ran as Admin

    - Updated all drivers

    -Turned off the firewall

    - Allowed all these games past the firewall

However it seems none of this is working and keeps resulting in my inability to connect. Would a fresh install of the OS change anything?

I would suggest you to open Windows defender and add exclusions and check if it helps. Follow the steps to add exclusions in windows Defender.

    • Type Windows defender settings in the search bar and press enter

    • Under Exclusions click on Add Exclusion
Hope this information helps. Reply to the post with an updated status of the issue so that we can assist you further.

Windows update and windows defender issues

We suggest you to avoid installing any cleaner or anti-virus software that may interrupt the function of Windows Defender. Make sure that Windows Defender is always on. To do this follow these steps:

    • On the Start menu, type Windows Defender and hit enter.
    • Click Settings.
    • Turn Real-time protection on.
We also recommend you to install the latest update for Windows Defender.

Should you have further questions, feel free to get back to us.
