Windows 10: Is there a fix for volume mixer automatically resetting?

Hi.I have had this issue where the volume level of my web browser resets everytime it's reopened.At first, I thought it was a problem with brave, as I only started using it, but then I realized it was happening with all web browsers. Tested today with brave and edge, and both are resetting everytime they are opened.The issue: when I go watch or listen to anything on a web browser, I open windows volume mixer and set it to 50% or so. While the app is still open, it keeps it's volume level, but as soon as I close it and open it up again sometime later, the volume goes back to 100%, so I have to

The requirement of pinning Volume mixer to the taskbar is currently not available in Windows 10. However, you can view Volume mixer from the volume control icon located in the system tray.



Before we assist further, I would like to ask you a few questions:

  Are you not able to see volume icon or the volume mixer on the computer?
  
• 
  If volume icon, have you enabled the option to show in the system tray?
  

If you want to view Volume mixer on the PC and have enabled volume icon on the system tray, follow the steps below and check if the issue is resolved.

• 
  Right click on the volume icon and select
  Open Volume Mixer from the context menu.
  
• 
  Check if the window is accessible on the computer.
  

Note: The option to pin Volume mixer to the taskbar is not currently available on the computer.

It's quite strange that your Vivaldi browser is not showing up in the Volume Mixer. Here are some steps you could try to fix this issue:

1. Run as Administrator: Sometimes, running an application as an administrator can solve such issues. Right-click on the Vivaldi shortcut and select "Run as administrator". Check if it now appears in the Volume Mixer.
   
2. Reset Sound Settings: Go to Sound settings (right-click on the speaker icon in your taskbar and choose 'Open Sound settings'). Scroll down and click on 'App volume and device preferences'. Try adjusting the volume for Vivaldi there, or reset all settings.
   
3. Reinstall Vivaldi: Uninstalling and reinstalling software can often resolve unexpected issues. Be sure to backup your bookmarks and other data before uninstalling.
   
4. Update Audio Drivers: Even though you mentioned that no drivers seem out of date, it might be worth manually checking your audio drivers just in case:
   
   • Open Device Manager (type "Device Manager" into the Windows search bar).
     
   • Expand "Sound, video and game controllers".
     
   • Right-click on each device under this category and select "Update driver". Choose "Search automatically for updated driver software".
     
5. Check GoXLR Settings: Ensure that nothing has changed with your GoXLR setup that might be causing this issue.
   
6. Try a Different Browser: As a test, install another browser like Chrome or Firefox to see if they appear in the Volume Mixer when playing audio.
   

Remember, changes to sound settings can sometimes require a system restart before they take effect completely.

If none of these suggestions work, it may be something wrong with Vivaldi or an incompatibility with GoXLR.
