Windows 10: Is there a Microsoft win 11 driver for the hp c4280 printer?

HP does not have a compatible driver! They said to try Microsoft. TIA.

HP printer driver bug/issue

I had an HP printer a couple of years ago, and since changed brands, but when I follow these steps, no HP shows. I only see my current printer. So if it's not listed I guess I don't have drivers for it anymore?




Also what about people who are just simple users, and will have no idea what to do? I know a couple that just let Windows do everything for them. This seems like a nightmare if a fix isn't pushed automatically since there will be a lot of people affected, and not even know since they don't even follow tech news for things like this.

 

Can't install HP printer driver in Win 10 64

To make sure all traits of previous driver or install isn't there. I suggest to delete the driver at the root level and Install the drivers, follow the steps below:

1.) In Windows, search for Apps & features.

2.) Look for your HP Printer

3.) Select Uninstall

4.) In Windows, search for Printers & Scanner

5.) In the Printers & Scanner windows look for your HP printer. If you see it listed right-click on it and choose `Delete' or `Remove Device'

6.) Open up the run command with the "Windows key + R" key combo.

7.) Type printui.exe /s and click Ok. (Note: there is a space in between "printui.exe" and "/s")

8.) Click on the "Drivers" tab

9.) Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it Click on it and click Remove at the bottom

10.) Select Ok

11.) Select Apply and Ok on the Print Server Properties windows

12.) Close Devices and Printers

HP Deskjet 9300 printer on Win 7 or Win 8.1  

But it does ask you to connect the printer

Step Two
11. Connect the USB cable to the product, and connect the USB cable to the computer. A Device driver software was not successfully installed window opens.

Step three:
3. Click the drop down menu, and then change the port from LPT1 to USB or DOT4.virtual

If you connect the printer in Step two #11 then maybe when you get to Step three #3 there will be USB port in the list.
