Windows 10: Is there a patch coming to allow automatic sorting in Win 11 file explorer?

Is there a patch coming to allow automatic sorting in Win 11 file explorer? I create audio files every day- and then number them just before they're needed. Under Win10 they would sort automatically once I added the number. 01 File Name would go to the top of the list. 02 File Name would go below it, etc. Not I continuously have to refresh. This extra step, while seemingly innocuous adds to the time needed to do my work. Is there a way to get Win11 to do this on its own without having to repeatedly hit F5? Thanks.

Sorting with File Explorer.

I tried the method that was complicated (3rd option) but fell over in second step as I could not find any "apply to folder button"'.

However, the simple put *.* in search bar, then sort results windows by date does the trick. It is slightly cumbersome as I have to do that each time I am selecting files (to upload to sharepoint) but a lot less hassle than I was having to scroll up and down between sorted file block and sorted folder block.

Windows 11 - How to automatically sort music files by track # in File Explorer

Hi,

I just got an Asus desktop PC with Windows 11 64-bit which I use primarily as a music server for JRiver, and store the large number of music files in File Explorer. The album files are automatically sorted alphabetically instead of by track #, but I would like them to sort by track # as the default. When loading albums onto a flash drive for the car, they play alphabetically, as they are sorted in File Explorer.

In windows 10, I was able, through Options, to change the sorting default to # Ascending, but there doesn't seem to be that option in Windows 11. Even sorting some album files manually by # doesn't permanently hold, as they are alphabetical the next time. Options and Properties don't offer a sorting choice, and I'm stuck on how to proceed.

Ideally, characters in File Explorer are sorted in Unicode. You may want to change the locale format to Chinese and see if it helps.



Note:

Serious problems might occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you follow these steps carefully. For added protection, back up the registry before you modify it. Then, you can restore the registry
if a problem occurs. To backup and restore registry key, refer to this
link.

• Press ‘Win + R’ keys on the keyboard together to open the Run dialog box and type the following into the run box:
  REGEDIT
  
• Navigate to the following location:
  
  HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\International
  
• On the right pane, double click on Locale
  and set the Value Data to 00000804.
  
• Exit REGEDIT, and reboot the machine to see if you can sort Chinese titled folders.
