Is there a permissions support troubleshooter?

I vaguely recall that Windows support was able to help run permissions repairs on user accounts. Is this service or utility available somewhere? A music notation program that I use doesn't hold my preferences, and that company's support tells me this is a Windows permission issue. That's why I'm asking. I'm not entirely buying that explanation, but I would like to check it out. Thanks.

    :)

  2. is there a support department left?

am trying to get someone from support for my issue. I hit the chat or call links and it keeps taking me back to that ridiculous virtual agent

  3. is there a support department left?

The tiles on my start page either disappear or the icons on the tiles themselves vanish so that the tiles are just blank squares

Is there a permissions support troubleshooter?

Gosh, I'm not aware of a built-in Windows tool to do this. But there is a tool from Tweaking.com (here's a download link from MajorGeeks for same) called Windows Repair that might help. Conventional wisdom is to run the simple or gentle repairs first, before getting too aggressive in the area of reset file permissions. It's recommended by many heavy-duty members here at TenForums, as examining this search will show.

Thanks, EdTittel. I have a feeling this company is trying to jerk me around a bit. I've checked my permissions--they're fine. All my other software holds preferences I select--except for this one company's product. And Tweaking.com reports that all is OK.
