  1. Is there a reason why my ssd on my new pc is only peaking 3% performance when downloading...

Basically, I just built my first pc, and I've done what I thought was the necessary steps to make it run fast. I installed any drivers I thought I needed, updated the bios, etc. But my ssd hasn't gone past at the maximum 5%. My family has decent wifi, which should be able to bring it up to 200-400 megabytes a second, but its peak currently when installing a game has been 24 megabytes, and it's averaging around 10 megabytes. Any input would be much appreciated!

    :)

  2. PC Mechanic Gets Sneak Peak at Firefox 3

Things are looking good for Mozilla's Firefox, which is the most popular competitor to Microsoft Internet Explorer. The latest version of the in-development Firefox 3 is Alpha 7, codenamed "Gran Paradiso". While it is still far from an official release, Firefox 3 already shows much promise, and boasts a long list of very powerful features. Highlights from the Alpha 7:
    • A new bookmarking interface, which adds the ability to tag your favorites.
    • Malware detection, with the help of Google
    • Detection of micro-formats.
    • Private Browsing mode, which allows users to surf the web with anonymity.
    • Support for running internet applications in off-line mode.
Feel free to read the entire sneak peak at PC Mechanic.

  4. Is there a reason why my ssd on my new pc is only peaking 3% performance when downloading...

    PC Build Steps

Ok just because I like steps i am going to create some steps. Please give me the stamp of approval/disapproval
    • Install system in case
      • Remember to connect SSD and optical to same SATA ports on motherboard
    • Turn on PC
    • setup HDD
    • run blend test in prime95 for 30-60 min
      • run realtemp at the same time
    • While in Prime95 test
      • if CPU goes above 70c in RealTemp, I have a leaky CPU
      • if my system locks up or blue screens, there is an instability in the system somewhere
      • if my system does not lock up or blue screen, my CPU is not damaged and I am in the clear!
    What do you guys think??
