Block a selected program from making any file type associations?

say I havea program that automatically associates types, I don't want it to, so I add it to a list that bans associations coming from it.

Is there a software patch that can detect temporary files and delete them from E72?

How large is your "dmgr" folder?? Mine contains 11 folders, but consumes about 2K of space. (Most folders are empty.) I don't know exactly what these directories do (storage space for Java apps?), but wouldn't recommend deleting anything unless you know
what program(s) it would affect and are willing to accept it ceasing to run. (If the Java app is something you installed yourself, better to remove and then reinstall it through the OS.)



Are you sure the "dmgr" folders are the biggest problem? You might have a look at this thread:

To solve these problems,you might consider the following-

1.Clear all browser cache memory on your web browser,delete all the cookies, and clear browsing history.

2.Ensure that no applications are running in background.

Once you install it, you should be able to associate files with extensions you don't want that program to open, to open with something else.

 

Not possible.

File associations are just registry entries. Any program running with sufficient rights to change these entries (an admin level account) will have almost unrestricted access to the registry. There is no way to block this.

 

I would not use a program that forces file associations. Even the annoying Windows Media Player asks if it should register itself as standard player for a given file type.

 

Yes, most of them ask which associations it should use during the install. all major like ones like VLC, Daum etc. do, that's no reason not to use them as long as you set them up properly. Almost every one beats WMP handily.
