Is there a way to change audio devices used on calls in Phone Link?

I have a headset with mic which is set as the default speaker and microphone for communications, and I also have some desktop speakers and a standalone microphone which are always plugged in.By default, Phone Link is using the desktop speakers and the standalone microphone, and doesn't appear to have any options to actually change which audio devices are being used on calls, neither from the settings tab nor from within the call window.Defaulting to these two devices may be a weird Microsoft thing because Teams calls in Edge do exactly the same thing not a concern though, I can change devic

  2. Garbled Audio Using Phone Link Blue-toothed to Vizio Soundbar

    Hi

    Welcome to Microsoft community.

It appears that you're encountering audio issues when using Phone Link for phone calls with your new Pixel 7, specifically when connected to your Vizio soundbar or the laptop speakers. This issue seems isolated to Phone Link, as other audio sources work fine with both your soundbar and laptop speakers. Let's explore some troubleshooting steps to help address this problem:

    1. Check Phone Link Settings:

    • On your laptop, open Phone Link settings and ensure that the audio settings are correctly configured for the soundbar. Confirm that the soundbar is selected as the audio output device for Phone Link.
    2. Check Sound Settings on Pixel 7:

    • On your Pixel 7, navigate to the Bluetooth settings and locate the paired connection with your laptop. Check if there are any specific settings related to call audio routing. Ensure it's set to use the soundbar.
    3. Update Drivers and Software:

    • On your laptop, ensure that your Bluetooth drivers and Phone Link software are up to date. Visit the laptop manufacturer's website and the Phone Link software provider's website to download the latest updates if necessary.
    4. Test with Other Bluetooth Devices:

    • To further isolate the issue, try connecting your Pixel 7 to other Bluetooth audio devices (e.g., headphones, another speaker) and make phone calls to see if the garbled audio issue persists. This can help determine whether the problem is specific to Phone Link or the soundbar.
    5. Test with a Different Phone:

    • If possible, try connecting a different phone to your laptop and soundbar via Phone Link. This can help determine if the issue is indeed related to your Pixel 7 or if it persists across multiple devices.
    6. Compatibility issue:

    • It's possible that there is an incompatibility between the Phone Link feature on your Pixel 7 and the Vizio soundbar. Different devices and software versions can sometimes have compatibility issues, leading to audio problems. In this case, it may be worth checking if there are any firmware updates available for your soundbar or if there are any known compatibility issues between your phone and the soundbar.
    7. Signal interference:

    • Bluetooth signals can be susceptible to interference from other devices or objects. This interference can cause audio quality issues, including garbled sound. Try moving your phone closer to the soundbar or eliminating any potential sources of interference, such as other Bluetooth devices or physical obstructions.
    8. Bandwidth limitations:

    • Bluetooth connections have limited bandwidth, which means they can struggle to handle high-quality audio streams, especially during phone calls. This limitation can result in audio distortion or garbled sound. You can try adjusting the audio quality settings on your phone or soundbar to see if it makes a difference.
Please let me know if you need any further assistance. Thank you.

audo not woking with phone calls through windows link

    Hi

    Welcome to Microsoft community.

If you're experiencing issues with audio not working during phone calls through the Your Phone app on Windows 10, there are several steps you can take to troubleshoot. This app allows you to make and receive calls from your PC, but it can sometimes run into problems. Here are some troubleshooting steps:

    1. Check Your Phone and PC Connection:
      • Ensure that your phone and PC are properly connected via the Your Phone app. Sometimes, simply disconnecting and reconnecting can resolve temporary glitches.
    2. Update Your Phone App and Windows 10:

Make sure both the Your Phone app on your PC and the companion app on your phone are updated to the latest versions. Also, check for any pending Windows 10 updates by going to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update and clicking on Check for updates.
    3. Check Audio Settings in Your Phone App:

Open the Your Phone app on your PC, go to Settings, and look for any audio settings related to calls. Make sure the correct audio devices are selected for both microphone and speaker.
    4. Check Bluetooth Connection:
      • If you're using Bluetooth headphones or speakers, ensure they are properly connected to your PC and not just to your phone. Sometimes, Bluetooth audio devices can interfere with audio routing during calls.
    5. Check Privacy Settings for Microphone:

Go to Settings > Privacy > Microphone on your PC and ensure that access to the microphone is allowed for the Your Phone app. If not, this could be preventing audio during calls.
    6. Reinstall Your Phone App:
      • If none of the above steps work, try uninstalling and then reinstalling the Your Phone app on your PC. This can fix issues caused by corrupt app data or installation errors.
    7. Check for Interference from Other Software:
      • Sometimes, other software on your PC can interfere with the Your Phone app. This might include virtual audio devices, other communication apps, or security software. Try temporarily disabling or closing other software to see if this resolves the issue.
    8. Use the Troubleshooter:

Windows 10 has built-in troubleshooters that can sometimes identify and fix issues. Go to Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot > Additional troubleshooters, and run the troubleshooters for both Playing Audio and Incoming Connections.
Please feel free to let me know how it goes.
