Is there a way to change HotKey assignments on a laptop keyboard ?

Is there a way to change HotKey assignments on a laptop keyboard ? I installed Microsoft Mouse and Keyboard Center, but when it ran it said it could not detect any devices. If I plugged in a mouse and keyboard, used the tool to change settings, then unplugged the keyboard, would the changes still work?

The Microsoft Mouse and Keyboard Center will only work with a Microsoft branded keyboard

What hotkeys are you trying to change and are those specific to your keyboard or just Windows general hotkeys?

SharpKeys is a free utility for re-mapping keys on your keyboard, that maybe what you need to use, but I would need more information on what keys you are trying to change or remap

I suggest you to try installing Hotkeys driver.

Follow these steps after install the drivers check if that helps.

    • Download the keyboard drivers and hot fix (PHotkeys) driver from the manufacturer’s website.
    • Install driver on your system
