    I updated my windows today (I don't know how long it had been outdated, probably months) and suddenly my file explorer turned into this ugly dark mode. I don't dislike dark modes, but I prefer my file explorer just being the white color. The thing is, when I change it to Light (or even through Custom), every app (including chrome) goes along the file explorer when I switch to light or dark. But I only want to switch my explorer, not the other apps.

    It sounds like you have just received the 1809 Feature update . . .

    Close File Explorer

    Ope the Settings App (gear icon on your Start Menu)

    Go to Personalization - Colors

    At the bottom of that page, set default App Mode to Light

    Then open File Explorer, is it now the correct color?
