I have been trying to set my lock screen saver on both of my monitors to no avail. I am using Windows 11 Pro. Could someone help me? If the dual lock screen isn't available, any chance they will make this a feature? It seems like a no-brainer feature to me but I digress. Thanks for your replies! :

  2. Windows 11 - How do I extend to a second monitor and then share the second screen on a projector?

I have a laptop with windows 11. I am trying to extend my screen onto a second monitor and duplicate that monitor to a projection screen (3 screens essentially). I have an HDMI converter to Serial port and a serial splitter to go between the second monitor and the projector. When I first turn the computer on, the screen is extended between the laptop and the projector (even with the monitor plugged in). If I unplug the projector screen and unplug/replug the HDMI in the computer, it extends to the monitor. I can then plug the projector back in and the 2nd monitor is displayed on the projector screen (THIS IS WHAT I WANT). The problem is, as soon as I shut down my computer or let it go to sleep, it reverts to pairing with the projector screen and the second monitor stays asleep. Does anyone have a fix for this? Can I make my second screen priority so that when the computer wakes up it extends to it and not the projector?

  3. Problems while extending and duplicating on my second monitor

    Hi there!

So I wanted to get a dual monitor for my laptop so I found a monitor at home. Its an NEC LCD monitor which takes a VGA cable for input. So I got a HDMI to VGA adapter, plugged it into my Laptop (Asus X510UAR) and it worked flawlessly. All the projection modes such as PC only, Duplicate, Extend and Second Screen.

But when i wend to adjust the resolution for the second monitor in the display setting, idk what i pressed accidentally, but now my second monitor shows a black screen during Duplicate mode and while extending to the dual monitors, the mouse cursor does shift to another screen, but the dual screen is still black(even though apps are working on it. And when i switch to only the second screen, the second screen works completely fine(Indicating that the hardware is absolutely fine)

I've tried with many forum suggestions such as changing the resolution of both the screens as well as changing the primary monitors and the configuration of both the screens and orientation as well but no luck. I've even tried changing the Microsoft administrator account to a new account to reset to the default setting but no luck there as well. And other ways to reset to the default setting weren't possible on my laptop.

Please do suggest what could be the possible ways to solve the issue which wasn't there when i initially started.

    Thanks!

    Windows Version 1903(OS Build 18362.592)

Extend Display to second and third monitors

    Hi Ian,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

I appreciate the efforts taken by you in resolving the issue. I understand that you are unable to extend the display to second or third monitor. I’ll certainly assist you with the issue.

However, it would be great if you can help us with the details requested below:

    • What happens when you try to extend the display?
    • Do you receive any error message/code?
    • Are you aware of any changes made to the computer recently?
    • Which build version of Windows 10 is installed on the computer? To check type:
winver in the search bar on the Taskbar and hit
      Enter.
    • What is the make and model of the laptop?

Ideally, to extend the display we can use the shortcut Windows logo key + P, and select
    Extend from the menu.

I would suggest you to refer the troubleshooting steps mentioned in the article

Troubleshoot external monitor connections in Windows 10
    and see if that helps.

    For additional information, see

    Let us know the results.
