Windows 10: Is there a way to fix what new Windows Update broke?

I have always recorded audio on my laptop using a Blue Yeti microphone and Audacity as my DAW. However, after Windows 11 version 24H2 installed on my laptop about two weeks ago, I have been unable to record with my microphone in either Audacity or Bandlab. The microphone worked perfectly fine on another device without windows 11 installed. When looking in my device manager, I am greeted with a message saying;"Device settings for SWD\MMDEVAPI\{0.0.1.00000000}.{d2582b38-7de0-4d6b-bd31-3e65b822d3ae} were not migrated from previous OS installation due to partial or ambiguous device match. Method 1: Try updating the Video card drivers and check if it helps.



Follow the steps to update the Video card driver:

• Press Windows Key + X key and click Device Manager.
• Expand ‘Display Adapters’.
• Right-click on the Video card listed and click on ‘Update Driver Software’.

Method 2: Try installing the game in Compatibility mode and check.



Follow the steps to install in Compatibility mode:

• Right click the Game setup file and select Properties then tap or click the Compatibility tab.
• Place a check in the Run this program in compatibility mode for: box.
• Tap or click the drop down box and select a previous operating system, then tap or click OK.
• Try installing the Game and check.

If still the issue persist then I suggest you to follow the suggestion provided by crazzilla replied on August 3, 2015 from the below link and check if it helps.

Yeah, I've been noting it for months on the refusenik thread. They do NOT want anything older than 10 running.

I still have an HTPC on W7, and every other month I have to fix the update agent in order to get all updates. SMH....

You provided a good step by step fix. I've bookmarked it for future reference.
