Is there a way to force refresh or "restart" drive mapping?

I have a file server in my basement and I use a laptop with 3 mapped drives to external usb drives on the server. There is something I run on the basement server that will temporarily make those external drives unavailable and if the laptop notices the mapped drives will get a red X over them.

Now, when the server drives come back the mapped drives stay disconnected permanently until I reboot. After a reboot they are fine again but that suggests to me there must be something I could do to force the laptop to see the locations are back. Any ideas?

    Forced refresh rates? Help needed...

Hi try looking around in the Nvidia control panel for- "refresh rate overide" or something of that nature. I have ATI otherwise I would tell you exactly where to look.

If you don't see anything (I think Nvidia might not have this option). Then download this program called Refresh Force I use it all the time. But I must warn you this Refresh Force for me lists refresh rates higher than my monitor is supposed to use. Although the ones that are listed in Refresh Force which I know are to high "work" I know they are not supposed to be that high though.

So if you use Refresh Force make sure that you know the maximum refresh rate of your monitor first, then change all the ones that are above your maximum.

I think you might have to setup Refresh Force each time you update your video driver but maybe not. Refresh Force is really cool because it does'nt install as a program or run in the background either you just set it and forget it.

    Mapped Drives Issues

To clarify .... the issue is the Windows 10 OS. It is with Windows File Explorer. The Mapped drives used to appear in File Explorer's left panel list of drives and folders. Two days ago File explorer stopped show the mapped drives. so not they don;t appear in the list of Drives and folders.

I did, it has no effect. I also check the NAS devices they support SMB 2.0. Also I have several other computers on my home network they work fine with the mapped drives and They do not have SMB 1 turned on. So it is something that happened to the computer in question.
