  1. Is there a way to have a power plan set when certain applications are running?

I suppose I could write a script for this but didn't want to reinvent a wheel. Google hasn't helped much however. Basically I have a power plan I call 'Super Saver' which is configured to save as much power (this computer is on 24/7) as possible while ensuring the PC doesn't go to sleep and display quality is maintained (important). The CPU governing is quite aggressive, and even when running intensive applications, Windows will try to throttle the CPU as much as possible. I don't know why Windows is so bad, but that's just the way it is (I've been using Windows before most of you were born so I can talk shit). When I switch to the Ultimate Performance plan things work a lot smoother. There are only a few applications that need this performance, so I need a program that will switch to the performance mode when one or more of those applications are running. If none are running, the program will switch back to Super Saver.

    Power plan?

Upon checking, it seems that there's nothing wrong with your system. It is usual that you have to double-click your mouse before your monitor wakes up.

For the meantime, we suggest changing the power plan by following the steps below:

    • Press Windows key + S.
    • Type in Power Settings.
    • On the pop-up window, choose Additional power settings.
    • Select High performance.

After changing the power plan, we suggest that you monitor the changes made and check if that will work for you.

Get back to us if you need further help.
