Windows 10: Is there a way to hide/show desktop icons with just one mouse click?

I have a lot of desktop icons, they're usually files or folders that I'm editing. I know that I can right click > view > hide desktop icons, but that's a bit long winded.

Is there a way to have something on my taskbar that I can just single click to show/hide?

No icons on desktop after startup only

Have you tried toggling the Desktop icons on and off?

• Right-click on an open area of the Desktop
• Click: View
• If Show Desktop icons is already checked, uncheck it.
• Repeat the above steps a time or two.
• Check: Show Desktop icons

If no go on the above, right-click on the empty Desktop, and create a file.

Let us know if they come back on.

 

Remove Linux Desktop Icons

I am not sure whether this will work (Ubuntu does not have icons like that on the desktop by default), but I suggest opening the trash bin and sweeping the icons into the window showing the trash bin.

This issue could be caused if the Desktop Icons are hidden.

1. May I know, if you are aware of any recent changes made to the system after which you are facing this issue?
2. Which version and edition of Windows is installed on the computer?

I suggest you go through this articleShow, hide, or
resize desktop icons follow the steps, if the icons are hidden, you should get it back.



If you want to pin any icon to desktop you can check

Pin apps and folders to the desktop or taskbar and you can easily access them from the desktop screen.
