Windows 10: Is there a way to make it so that saving a file will default Explorer to the last location...

Sorry for the convoluted title, I know this is really kind of a niche problem but I'm just curious.

So basically let's say I am browsing reddit and I come across a funny image that I want to save for use for later, so I'll right click, save image, and explorer will open up to the same folder that was open the last time I was saving a picture from reddit.

Now, let's say I want to go to twitter and browse for some stuff, and I find some funny pictures from twitter that I want to save for later use as well, but when I save an image from twitter, explorer will open to the same folder that was used the last time I saved a picture from twitter.

Is there a way to make it so that this doesn't happen? I just want to be able to save image files to the last place explorer was open regardless of the source of the image.

Default location to save documenets

Hi Frank,

Sorry for the delayed response.

From your recent description, it seems like the issue is confined to Word documents. If true, then follow the steps below and check if it helps.

• Launch Word application.
• Go to File Menu and select Options.
• In the pop-up dialog box, towards the left pane, select Save.
• Under Default location file, browse the location you want to save.
• Check if the issue persists.

Making HDD as default saving location instead of sdd for files

Saving file location defaults

So specifically with PDF files. When I do a "save as" or sign with a digital signature, it brings up the explorer window. The explorer window opens to the file location of the last file I saved a PDF in. I would like explorer to default the the folder
the file I am working with is currently in.
