  1. Is there a way to permanently change the default Windows 11 folder view?

I'm getting older and am having increasing difficulty in seeing smaller details at distance. I'd really rather not have to sit up close to my monitor to see a Windows folder's contents. When folder view is set to Extra Large Icons I can see what I am looking for. I'd like to permanently set my default Windows folder view to Extra Large without going through the tedium of jumping back and forth between the Properties and Options menus.Whenever I set a folder's default view, Windows sometimes decides to "helpfully" look at the folder's contents and reset it to "better" reflect it's contents

    :)

"uhm that method does not work. i want to set folder view as List as default instead Details for all folders"
Did you download and run Brink's .bat file in Step 1 ? Lacking that, look at the screens in post 3. In Step 5 'folders of this type' defaults to each of the Windows templates for Pictures, Music, etc. If you want ALL folders to have the same List view, r-click any folder in each of the 5 folders under This PC (Desktop does not apply) and hit 'Customize this folder'. Set to 'Optimize this folder for General Items". Then follow the screen in post 3 using List instead of Details in Step 1 and you should be good to go.

Windows 10 Change default on file view

Sorry but following the steps that you describe applied to the documents folder did not appear to change the views from details to list in any subfolders which were already set to 'Detail'.

Nor did this change of default view appear with addition of New folder or a subfolder of New folder.
