    Is there a way to remap the Media keys?


    Before the latest Windows update, I had to press Fn + F3 to turn the volume up. I liked that because, in Minecraft, you check your FPS with F3. That way when I wanted to check my FPS, I didn't end up just turning the volume up. Ever since the latest update, however, I don't have to press Fn to activate the media keys. It's really annoying because it interferes with some games that I have. I tried SharpKeys, but disabling F3 just completely disables it, and I can't even activate it with Fn. Is there a way to change the keyboard settings so I have to press Fn in order to use the media keys?

    thanks for this but the first post is to "assign a macro or program to a key" which is not what i want to do.

    Im not sure why i would need to run the troubleshooter because there is nothing wrong with the keyboard i just want to remap the keys.

    i am unsure also why you are referring me to update with the media creation tool? these seem completely unrelated to my problem....

    note: i just tried selecting the 'send key combinations' on my remote desktop client and this allowed the remapping software to recognise the CMD key as the left windows key so i thought i was in luck. i remapped it in the software to the left CRTL key and
    restarted but it doesnt seem to have done anything at all....frustrating.

    I appreciate the suggestion. Ive triedKey Tweak, SharpKeys, and another one woth app name of MSKLC. No luck with any of them. It allowed me to enter the keys i’d like to have remapped, but after applying and then rebooting everything remained the same.
