Windows 10: Is there a way to reset the System Password to access UEFI Firmware Settings?

I am on a Legion 5-15IMH05H Lenovo - Type 81Y6 laptop with Windows 11. I installed Valorant because a few of my friends play it and Riot Vanguard tells me that Vanguard requires a secure boot to play. I press the windows key and searched msinfo32 to check my BIOS mode and Secure Boot State as seen below. I checked a few guides and they said to go into the settings and go to Recovery and then Advanced Start Up. From here I went to Troubleshoot>Advanced Options>UEFI Firmware Settings>Restart. Then it asks me to put in the System Password. I do not remember setting a password and

System firmware UEFI Admin Password

Problem is if you set a password and forget it, you are screwed and may have to resort to elaborate physical methods to reset bios.

There is no real need to use a bios password unless you want to prevent users with PHYSICAL access to pc to change anything.

Remote users/hackers cannot modify the bios.

I guess it helps if laptop is stolen but even then most thieves would wipe drives anyway. You should not keep confidential details on a laptop if risk of theft is high where you take it.

 

UEFI Firmware Windows Settings Not Accessible

I own a HP Z1 desktop computer (HP Z1 Entry Tower G5 Base Model) with Windows version 21H2 installed. I've never been able to access the BIOS using the keyboard keys recommended by HP customer support.

So, I've tried to get to the UEFI Firmware Settings via Windows Recovery. I can get as far as the menu that shows the UEFI Firmware Settings option. But when I click this option and then click restart, the UEFI Firmware Settings never display. Instead the computer displays a black screen, and I have to shut it off and back on again to return to Windows.

Does anyone know why this might be happening? Please note that I have reset the CMOS.
