Windows 10: Is there a way to restrict search so only the external media such as a flash drive inserted...

I want to restrict search to external media so that when someone else uses my computer, they can only search their own flash drive, not my documents on my hard drive. How can this be done?

Error: Please Insert The External Storage Media And Press Ok

My computer, HP 14-an013nr, said to do the Windows 10 update, but the storage was full so it suggested an external storage device... The problem is that now after using a usp drive and following the steps it is unable to reinstall the previous version. I've
tried this multiple times and even when it says "Restoring the previous version of windows" it always comes back to the "error please insert the external storage media and press ok" message. I can no longer use the computer. It will do NOTHING. It won't restore
the previous version of windows and only shows a black screen with the error message. Is there a way to save the thing or is it lost?

Please reply to the questions mentioned below in order to assist you in a better way.

• Did you try inserting the external storage to another port of the computer or inserting it in another computer and check if it gets recognized?
• Are other external devices getting recognized in the computer?

The initial step in getting these issues fixed is to perform a Hardware and Devices troubleshooter and check if it helps.

If your computer is having problems with a recently installed device or other hardware, try using the
Hardware and Devices troubleshooter to fix the problem. It checks for common issues and makes sure that any new device or hardware attached to your computer was installed correctly.

• Type “Troubleshooting” without quotes in the Search box and hit enter.
• Select “Hardware and Sound” from the Troubleshooter Window.
• Select “Hardware and Devices” under Devices option.
• Follow the On Screen instructions.

Please revert if the external storage media still does not get recognized.
