Hi, I was hoping to see if anyone has had any luck scripting the assignment of a specific driver to a device? I've tried using pnputil to install the driver, it gets added to the store but the device does not automatically pick it up. If I do this manually in device manager using the have disk option it works fine. The only thing I can see that might be causing an issue is during the manual method I have to untick "Show compatible devices" to select the driver. We understand the risk of not using a "compatible" driver, so hoping it might be a case of using a flag to "force" the device to

  2. Windows Script Host

    Hi Tiara,

The message "Windows Script Host access is disabled on this machine. Contact your administrator for details" is usually occurring if a program that does not require the feature of Windows Script Host is running on a Windows PC. For us to provide an accurate
solution, we would need you to answer the following questions:

    • Which build, version and edition of Windows is installed on your computer?
    • Does the message appear when you are launching a specific application?
    • What changes were made to the device before this issue happened?

For initial troubleshooting, we suggest following the steps provided by
    Ramesh Srinivasan
    in this thread.

We are looking forward to your response.

That's what the auto setting will do since you're over the 1333 mark it jumps to the next step which isn't listed or officially supported I assume by that ram.

At this point though I would suggest dropping the multi one step or .5 so that we can get something stable and possibly take the heat issue out of the picture for now.

  4. Is there a way to script a device to use a specific driver, even if its not marked as...

Is it safe to uninstall drivers for two "Unknown Devices" in Device Manager marked with Exclamation mark

    Hello,

Thank you for posting your query on Microsoft Community.

Yes, you are correct. If any device is marked with Exclamation mark that means those drivers are not working properly.

If you have connected any external device to your system, then I suggest you to first safely remove those devices and then uninstall the drivers. It will not create any problem.

Hope the above information was helpful. If you need further assistance, please do let us know and we would be happy to help you.

    Thank you.
