  1. Is there a way to tell different processes which network adapter to use?

Tl;dr: I'd like to access both a local network over my Ethernet and the internet over my WiFi connection. Is there a way to tell Chrome/Firefox/terminal/explorer/... processes which interface they should be using when I want to access a resource?

I frequently need to connect to local networks (via Ethernet) that don't have access to the internet, but I still need to use the internet sometimes (usually with my WiFi), and it's driving me crazy how I have to switch between the two connections and use only one adapter at a time.

Do you know any "easy" way to tell my applications which adapter they should be using, for example when I start them?

I know that it's possible because VirtualBox allows me to choose which adapter my VMs are supposed to use. But it's overkill to run a VM just to access, say, a local web server...

If you know about any way (the easier the better) to do this, or achieve a similar result, I would be most grateful!

    Issues with network adapters

    Hi Alfonso,

To resolve this issue, we suggest that you run the Network troubleshooter when you switch from WiFi to Ethernet connection. The Network troubleshooter can help diagnose and fix common connection problems including clearing the network cache to obtain a new
IP from the new network. Kindly follow the steps below:

    • In the search box on the taskbar, type Identify and repair network problems, and then select
Identify and repair network problems from the list of results.
    • Follow the steps in the troubleshooter and see if that fixes the problem.

If the issue persists, kindly try the troubleshooting steps on the following link:

Fix network connection issues in Windows 10
    .

We recommend that you try the steps on the Update the network adapter driver,
Run the Network troubleshooter followed by networking commands, and Use network reset to reinstall network devices sections.

Let us know how it goes for us to assist you further.

Install a driver for your network adapter

Go to the list of network adapters in the control panel, turn of the lan and turn it on again. See if that helps.
