Windows 10: Is there a way to turn back on Ctrl-shift-arrows to select text in cmd? If not, please...

Control+shift+arrow select stops workingEdition Windows 11 ProVersion 24H2Just upgraded, and it stopped working in cmd. It works fine everywhere else, such as the browser, Visual Studio, the Search box in the Taskbar. Oh! And it works in PowerShell. Just not cmd.

Ctrl+Shift Arrow-Keys not working as expected

I suspect this is a case of PEBKAC

Ctrl+Shift+↑/↓ is supposed to move lines in Notepad++.

Shift+↑/↓ will select text.

In general, unless specific application overloads this behavior:

• Shift enables text selection as cursor moves (either with arrows or Home/End/Page Up/Page Down keys)
  
• Ctrl+←/→ makes cursor move by words instead of characters
  
• Ctrl+Page Up/Page Down jumps to actual next page, not just next screen (ie. scrolls document to the top of next sheet of paper)
  
• Ctrl+Home/End jumps to beginning/end of the document
  

 

Ctrl+Shift+Arrow key combination doesn't work

The Scroll Lock function is OFF.

Ctrl+Arrow works as expected, jumping to the begining of the next word

Shift+Arrow works as expected, selecting the next character

Ctrl+Shift+Arrow does nothing at all

Combination of CTRL, SHIFT, ARROW keys not repeating

OS: Windows 10.0

Machine: Dell Inspiron 5559 (it's new so I know there is nothing wrong with the hardware)

Here is the predicament I am faced with:

When I use a combination of the CTRL, SHIFT and RIGHT (or LEFT) ARROW keys to let's say select text in a Word/Google document, the combination works once but does not repeat itself if I keep holding down the
keys (it used to on my last laptop which had Windows 7 installed on it).

I have already checked the Ease of Access Center. Sticky, Toggle and Filter keys are all OFF.

I have disabled the Intel HD Graphics hotkeys.

I have researched probably about 20 articles but nothing.

Guys, this is very important for me to fix because I work with text a LOTTTT and have to use this combination very frequently. So any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

PS: CTRL and RIGHT (or LEFT) ARROW keys combination still works and it repeats if I press and hold those keys. But for whatever odd reason, CTRL, SHIFT and RIGHT (or LEFT) ARROW keys combination is not repeating.
