    On taskbar, time, speakers and hidden icons arrow turned dark

    Win 10 2004. Apparently as a result of changing the background in a video program (AVC) from light to dark and back, the background in other programs, Windows Explorer and the time, hidden icons and speakers icons on the taskbar turned dark too. In addition,
    the backgrounds for the notification area and time/calendar area turned grey. I've got Explorer back to light, but can't find the way to get the right side taskbar elements back to light. One instruction I read online to toggle "Use small taskbar buttons"
    didn't solve it. Another says to change the Color under Personalization to Light, but it already was. So, where is the dark/light mode for these right side taskbar elements controlled from? I've included below a screenshot of the ones I'm referring to on the
    taskbar itself (the taskbar is intentionally set to transparent). Thanks,

    System Icons on taskbar

    Hi,

    Thank you for posting on Microsoft Communities.

    Are you referring to the clock system icon on the taskbar?

    If so, I suggest you to follow the steps mentioned below:


    • Click on the search bar on the taskbar.

    • Type system icons.

    • Under Turn System Icons ON or OFF, turn On the Clock and check with the issue.

    After an automatic update, my taskbar and all windows have turned to dark mode overnight, how do I change it back so the taskbar is dark and the windows are light ?
