  2. Unable to enter Administrator password in User Account Control on windows 10

    Hello,

Thank you for contacting Microsoft Community.

We understand the inconvenience you have experienced.

Are you using Local account or Microsoft account?

Let me confirm that User Account Control (UAC) notifies you before changes are made to your PC that require administrator-level permission. These types of changes can affect the security of your computer or can
affect settings for other people that use the computer. You can see this message appearing continuously asking for administrator password, while accessing app or application, then it indicates that existing User Profile doesn't have required Administrator
    Privileges to run.

And you don't see space to enter the administrator password, as because of some corruption with system files. This happen when current User Profile is privileged as Standard account. First try to boot your PC into
Safe Mode, then try to change the account type to Administrator account through Control Panel.
Now come back to Normal mode to see if the issue still appears. If it doesn't, then follow the below mentioned steps to fix this issue.

    • Press Start, type
cmd and select the same from the list when it appears. Type
      Net User
into command prompt and hit Enter Key. Now if you can able to see
Administrator account under User accounts then continue with the below steps to fix the issue.

    • Restart your PC. When you reach the
sign-in screen, hold the Shift key and select the
Power button, and then select Restart.

    • After your PC restarts, select
Troubleshoot > Advanced options >Command Prompt. Wait till computer restarts.

    • Select the User account and enter the password, when it ask for choice.
In the opened Administrator: X:\windows\system32\cmd.execommand window, type
NET USER ADMINISTRATOR /ACTIVE:YESand press Enter. This will enable the built-in Administrator account. To exit command prompt type
      Exit and hit Enter.

    • Back on the Choose an option window, click
Troubleshoot /> Advanced options / > Startup Settings />Restart.After your PC restarts, you should see a number of options. Press 5 or F5 for Safe Mode with networking.

    • After the computer starts in
      Safe Mode
, from the displayed list of users, Select Administratorto log on to the computer using the built-in Administrator account. From the Administrator account, give admin privileges to the current User Profile.

    • Now go back and see if the problem still appears. Also check whether UAC display Administrator account there.

Note: Disable the Admin account after completing the troubleshooting. You can do that by just replacing
YES with NO in the above command.

Keep us posted if you require further assistance, we're glad to assist you.
