Windows 10: Is there an actual way to change the Windows 11 startup sound

Is there an actual way to change the Windows 11 startup & shutdown sound? I tried enabling the option that is disabled by default using the registry editor at the path HKEY_CURRENT_USER/AppEvents/EventLabels/WindowsLogon and HKEY_CURRENT_USER/AppEvents/EventLabels/WindowsLogoff and changing the entry ExcludeFromCPL from 1 to 0 which allows the setting to appear in the "Sounds" control panel window which can be accessed from the Settings App, however by changing this setting, it appears to do nothing; no logoff sound loads and the standard Windows 11 startup chime loads even if the setting

Windows Startup Sound

As per the previous posts I understand that you are referring to Startup sounds in Windows 10.

If so, I suggest you to try the below steps and check if it helps.

Make sure that your device speakers are working fine before performing the troubleshooting steps.

  Right click on the Volume icon on the Task bar.

  Select Sounds option from the list.
  
• 
  Select Sounds tab.
  
• 
  Check mark on Play Windows Startup sound option.
  
• 
  Under Program Events: click on any option and under Sounds: select Windows Startup from the list.

  Click on Browser button and select a
  Sound.
  
• 
  Try to restart the computer and check if it helps.

Changing the Startup sound of Windows 10

We apologize for the inconvenience caused to you. I would like to assist you with further information from here.

In Windows , the actual startup sound is disabled by default to enhance the boot time. However, as a workaround, you can check Play Windows Startup sound on the
Sounds tab.

Also, "Windows Logon" sound entry in the Sounds dialog is hidden by default. So the option to change the start up sound is not available in Windows 10.

I suggest you to post your valuable feedback about Windows 10 in feedback app. So, that it will be helpful for the developers to integrate the changes suggested by you.

Open start menu, type Feedback app in search bar and click on feedback app to open it. Post your suggestions in feedback app.
