Windows 10: Is there an easy way to transfer/view files from a PC without logging in?

I'm asking specifically for my brother, who — due to some family conflicts — no longer has access to his own login. We're trying to move select files from his computer to his phone, namely video and image files.Note: due to aforementioned family conflicts, we don't have access to anything that requires admin permissions.

Restoring a Windows Easy Transfer .mig file to Windows 10

Restoring a .MIG file using Windows Easy Transfer won’t work from an x64 to an x86 Operating system.

Download USMT4 MigRecover Utility
here and follow the below steps:

• Download the MigRecover Utility for USMT4 from one of the links above
• Extract the downloaded archive to a desired location
• Start by renaming the .MIG file to SaveData.MIG
• Create a destination folder for the extracted “raw” files
• Open an elevated command prompt (right-click – Run as Administrator)
• Browse to the desired folder location containing “MigRecover.exe”
• Type the following command: MigRecover.exe [.MIG file location] [Destination folder].

As Easy Transfer is not available in Windows 10, I suggest you to try recovering your files from Windows.old folder. As upgrading from Windows create a Windows.old folder in the drive where operating system resides.

Easy Way to Transfer Account Settings

I think I have a corrupted Windows Account. I could not find an easy way to transfer my existing one to a new one I made. Also the new account has a different name under users since I cannot use my original name.

Any suggestions on how to solve these two problems?

 

transfer files between computers on a home network

I don't know why this is so hard to do but I would like to transfer files between a desktop PC running windows 10 pro and a laptop running windows 10 home. I would like to transfer files in both directions. Both computers are on the same home network and are connected wirelessly.

Could some one provide either specific step by step instructions on how to do this (I googled and found a countless list of instructions that don't work)

or a link to a reference.

I don't know if this is possible but it would be nice to see the computer sending the desired file in the explorer file manager of the computer receiving the desired file and then under the computer see a list
of shared files and folders.

Again, this seems like such a reasonable way of sharing files and folders. Shouldn't there be a simple way to do this?
