Is there any sort of Windows app/plugin/setting that will give me emoji replacement in all...

Some apps and websites automatically replace emoticons such as Is there any sort of Windows app/plugin/setting that will give me emoji replacement in all... :) with emoji such as , but this is not at all consistent. Is there any app or plugin I can install, or setting I can tweak, to enable this feature throughout the OS? Also I could see this being useful for typing shortcuts, e.g. I might want "se5" to be replaced with "Space Empires V" or something like that.

On a related note, what about autocorrect and text prediction? Any way to get that in Windows as well?

  2. New Windows Media Player Plugin for Firefox

Anyone who uses Windows Vista and Mozilla Firefox may be pleased to hear that the Windows Media Player team has now released a plugin for Firefox that should allow the browser to play WMP content on websites. Here are the steps to get it working:
    • Installation of the Windows Media Player Firefox Plugin may require administrative access to your PC. It is recommended that you close all other open browser windows before continuing with the installation.
    • Click the Install button to automatically download and install the Windows Media Player Firefox Plugin.
    • Depending on your security settings, you may see a Security Warning dialog box. Click Install to install the plugin.
There is a known issue if you are using Firefox version 2.0.0.3 on Windows Vista with the installer failing with error code -203. To work around this simply restart Firefox (you will get a notification that Windows Vista will be changing the Firefox compatibility settings) and then install again - the second time should succeed.

The download is available here, and the new plugin works on all versions of Windows XP and Windows Vista (although it is mostly intended for Vista, as that currently has no WMP support in Firefox).

How to fix emoji keyboard not showing up using shortcut

    Hi,

This issue is often caused by a corrupted or missing data file. To better isolate if this is a user profile specific or an emerging issue, we suggest that you create a new user profile and try to use the same keyboard shortcut to get the emoji keyboard to
show up. Here's the link for the steps on how to:
    Set up accounts
    .

In the meantime, we'll give you the steps for a workaround to access the emojis. Here are the steps:

    • Right-click on the Taskbar.
    • Select the Show touch keyboard button option and a keyboard icon will show up on your
      Taskbar.
    • Click the keyboard icon and select the emoji button.

Let us know how it goes and we'll assist you further if needed.

Replace default emojis with emojis from other systems

Hi IvanCvetnić, I am Paulo. I'm an Independent Advisor and an individual like you inclined to help.

Unfortunately, this isn't possible as of this moment. Each vendor has their own style of emojis. For Microsoft, it is Segoe Color Emoji font that provides the emoji. Unless Microsoft pays other vendor to install theirs in Windows devices, you'll never be able
    to use it.

For now, you may send this suggestion using your Feedback Hub app so others can up vote it.

I hope this helps resolve the problem.
