Windows 10: Is there any way to auto-hide the taskbar when a window is open but have it always showing...

The title says it all. I'd like the taskbar to be hidden when a window is open and for it to come back (and stay back) when nothing is open/when everything is minimized. Like how Chrome OS does it.

I don't mind installing additional software although I'd prefer not to if it can be done without installing anything additional.

Did you try the “Auto-hide the taskbar” option from Taskbar properties?



If you have not tried it, I would suggest you to follow these steps and auto-hide the taskbar:

• Right click on Taskbar.
• Click on Properties
• Check the box Auto-hide the taskbar.
• Click on OK.

• When did you start experiencing the problem?
• Did you make any changes to your computer prior to the issue?
• Have you tried to turn on and off the auto-hide feature, and see if it helps?
• Have you tried turning on the auto-hide function without any apps opened on the taskbar?

Also, make sure that there are notifications from apps whether on the taskbar or on the system tray that requires your attention, and need to be checked. This is also one of the reasons why the taskbar doesn't automatically hide.

Windows Taskbar doesn't hide in ANY program when full screen

Hey,

It works, but the problem is that the bar will be always hidden with this setting. I'd like that it to work the normal way,
just be hidden when I put something in full screen.
