  1. Is there any way to choose which SATA card info appears upon boot ?

I have a RocketRAID sata card, it boots up fine, shows RAID config screen just after the BIOS selection screen, etc. No problems. Today I bought a cheap JMB582 chip SATA card, 2 port, just to allow me to use 2 more drives as my motherboard ports are all used up. All works fine. However, my problem is only this new SATA card info pops up at the start now upon booting my PC, where-as before my RAID config and check screen would show up. I can't swap card slots (I am unsure if that would make a difference anyway) as this is the only place on my PC the card can be put. So how can I get my RocketRAID boot screen back up without removing the new SATA card ? Any driver tweaks ? It seems all drives, inc my RAID, all work fine in Windows 10, so I am not missing anything other than that boot up config screen that I like as it checks the RAID to make sure it is okay each time I boot up my PC, it allows allows me to go in to config screen if needed (technically I can do the same in the RocketRAID windows software though). Now all I get is a basic screen from my new SATA card saying what drives it finds, which is fairly pointless as it is not a config screen, just info. So if I had the choice of only 1 I would want the RocketRAID one to show. Any way to do this ?

I have a B450 AORUS ELITE motherboard. I have checked BIOS settings and can't see any option to choose.

    Thanks for any advice.

  2. go from sata 1 to sata 3 using an add on card and having it boot?

I need to check the bios and see if there is any such thing in there like this.
If I hit escape key, it does bring up a boot menu listing devices, like other hard drives and usb

Installation media boots to command prompt

I've just booted from known working install media to see exactly what it does when booting. The sequence of events is...

    1. Windows logo on a black screen
    2. circling dots appear beneath the logo
    3. light blue 'Please wait' screen with circling dots
    4. a command prompt window (very briefly)
    5. the initial Setup page appears

Do you see steps 1-3? If so, it appears you have stopped at step 4, suggesting that something on the disc cannot be read.

Does the disc boot properly in another machine? If so, try cleaning the laptop's drive lens then try booting from the disc again.

If not, make new install media with Microsoft's Media Creation Tool, either as a bootable USB, on an ISO that you can burn to another disc. At Step 8 in Option One of this tutorial you can choose between making a USB or an ISO.

Is there any way to choose which SATA card info appears upon boot ?

No Boot, Drives Not detected, Can't Load Win10 Pleses Help!

Until the BIOS sees your M.2, there's nothing you can do. It does not matter if the M.2 is unformatted/unallocated, the BIOS should see it.
    1. Suggest that you take the M.2 out, clean all the contacts and re-seat it and hope this is the case.
    2. If step one fails. Connect your 250GB SSD back in using one of the SATA port to see if the BIOS recognize it. If it doen't, then it might be something wrong with the MB, if it does then boot up the Windows Installation USB, run diskpart, shrink it at least 40GB then create a partition, Leave it unallocated then install Windows there.

Also try to re-seat all other components such as Memory, Video card etc...
